Exquisite narratives exhibition

Three recent photographs featured in a collaborative exhibition.

Curated by Tova Roger, Exquiisite narratives is a collaborative exhibition in which pairings of three separate artworks by three separate artists are used together to construct narratives / stories. Each of the three works in any one pairing represents or contributes one of the three elements of a plot construction--introduction, exposition, and conclusion--as read left to right.

"Similar to the game Consequences, The Exquisite Corpse was an 'automatic' game played by Surrealists. It involved one person drawing, or writing, something on a piece of paper, and then folding it to conceal their work from the next player. The next participant would then continue the drawing without seeing the original piece. The aim of this was to create odd conjunctions, both humorous and poetic, and without preconceived thought."

The exhibition run from 5 October 2007 through 10 October 2007 at Cranbrook Art Museum's Forum Gallery.
